Q. Will Teckstrip pass salt spray testing?
A. Yes, when properly protected from corrosion by means of tin or cadium plating.
Q. How are the ends finished on Tecknit Strip (Mesh) cut to specific lengths and what other options are available?
A. Finished ends mean removal of loose wires and spot bonding is the method used to prevent unravelling.
Q. Is SN/CU/FE Mesh magnetic
A. SN/CU/FE is insignificantly magnetic and considered ferro-magnetic.
Q. What are the recommended groove specifications for knitted wire mesh strips? This information is available for the Consil products.
A. Groove dimensions are much more critical for the solid Elastomers which do not compress. For knitted Wire Mesh, the material will readily compress 40% making the design of such a groove comparatively simple. For this reason, groove dimensions for knitted wire are not cited.
Q. What is the reason for attaching rubber to mesh?
A. Rubber, which is generally placed on the side which faces the worst environment condition, seals out moisture and salt spray. Rubber can also completely straddle mesh and provide protection on both sides in extreme conditions.
