The benefits of using Tecknit Conductive Paint.
The use of plastic enclosures and boxes in the electronic industry is on the increase. This is because these types of enclosures are efficient to produce and the end product is light weight. The disadvantage of this type of enclosure is that it offers virtually no shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI). There is a need therefore to make these enclosures conductive in some way so that an EMI shield can be formed.
Tecknit's conductive paint is such a system amd can be applied easily by brushing, spraying or dipping and provides a highly conductive surface at minimal cost.

|
The conductive medium of Tecknit's conductive paint is silver glass particles. Silver is highly conductive and has excellent anti-corrosive parameters which makes it ideal for this type of application. The final finish of the paint is a very durable gold coloured surface. The thickness of the paint applied directly effects the level of conductivity and hence
the amount of shielding achieved. The conductive surface of this paint can also protect against electrostatic discharge (ESD) and against an electromagnetic pulse (EMP)
